Trainers of life champions together for a better future
Within the concept “Creating Life Champions”, in organization of the partner association, United Societies of Balkans from Greece, from April 18-21, 2024 Thessaloniki was a host city of the gathering of coaches of younger categories and members of the expert group.
On that occasion, representatives of RFK Grafičar, HNK Gorica, Academy Pandev Breza Strumica, FC Antalyaspor, FC Željezničar, ŽFK Borec Veles, also the academy of football SU Team discussed with the expert about the educational material prepared in the previous period, all with the aim of empowering coaches with new knowledge, information and specific tools to act as educators and pedagogues in their sporting work with children and young people.
Through short introductory lectures, interactive and dynamic discussions, workshops and educational games tested in smaller groups, attendees had the opportunity to give comments on the presented material from the angle of its applicability in the training process, test material on site and share their feedback, at the same time strengthening social, communication skills and teamwork.
A special segment of the gathering was going to the football field, to directly test the purpose of educational material in place where football coaches would apply later the acquired knowledge and skills.
Interested in the concept of life champions and possibly accession to the same, Iraklis Football Club provided its court on that occasion, so the stay in Greece was also used to introduce and present our concept to a potential Greek partner, which would be the 11th country that recognized the importance of this educational-sports concept.
In addition to the working part, our hosts also organized various cultural and historical tours, and getting to know the interesting tourist facilities of this second largest Greek city. For many coaches this was an opportunity to visit Thessaloniki for the first time, which gave additional significance to the entire visit.
At the end of the meeting, all present coaches pointed out that this was an exceptional opportunity to connect, exchange experiences and achieve additional cooperation, which would lead to joint plans and actions, both at regional and broader European levels. Representative of Development Center for Youth, Veljko Avramović, stated at the end of the meeting that more gatherings of this type needed to be organized, due to which we would strive to provide more training and gatherings in the upcoming period, thus contributing to the better future of the region and Europe.
Gathering was realized within the concept “Creating Life Champions”, thanks to the support from the European Union through Erasmus+ program in the field of sports and UEFA Foundation for Children.
