Call for the training “Extraordinary work in extraordinary situation”

Have youth associations and associations for youth adapted quickly enough to the new circumstances? What programs have they prepared for their target groups in emergency situations? Do they know enough about the legal, health and security measures that are a prerequisite for any social action at this time? Have they adapted quickly enough to work in a digital environment and how did the young people they work with react to all these new elements of community action?

The initial training on the project “Extraordinary work in extraordinary situation” will gather experienced activists from the youth sector, 24 of them, in order to exchange opinions on these, but also on number of other issues arising from the current situation around the globe. Goal is to jointly define challenges of new situation and all potential answers to it, and that is why your point of view is important to us – what and how to do to mitigate the consequences of the pandemic on regular daily functioning of our target groups, different categories of youth.

In addition to exchanging opinions and reaching common conclusions on the above topics, the training will contribute to expanding knowledge and exchanging information on usage of modern digital technologies in work with young people, but also a detailed introduction to all current measures and modalities of behavior they prescribe, as well as their impact on youth activism.

If you are active in the field of youth, up to 30 years of age with potential exceptions, interested in sharing your experiences of working in extraordinary circumstances with others, but also learning something new, ready to set aside a few days for this topic starting from October 16, this training is the right choice for you!

Upon completion of the training, participants will be encouraged to share the acquired knowledge and information, both within the association and among young people from local communities they are coming, as well as to participate in preparation of the video tutorial “Truths and Delusions about the work of civil society organizations in extraordinary situations“.

Call is open until October 8, and selected participants will receive information about their participation the next day, together with a detailed Info pack with all necessary programmatic and logistical data on the training.
