New activities in Strumica

The delegation of Development Center for Youth, led by program director Aleksandra Knežević, visited North Macedonia from March 25 to 27. On that occasion, the delegation had also been in Strumica, where they attended training for coaches on the topic of sensitization in working with children from vulnerable categories which was held in Strumica Municipality Hall.
This event marked the beginning of the project “Life Champions 3.0: every child has a right to be a champion”, which is supported by the UEFA Foundation for Children. Coaches and sports workers had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and experience in working with particularly sensitive categories through lectures, interactive workshops, and examples of good practice. During the training, they discussed ways for more active involvement of the children from vulnerable categories into sports activities, as well as an approach that can contribute to their better integration and development.
A particularly significant moment of this visit was signing of an agreement on the continuation of cooperation between long-standing partners – Development Center for Youth and FC AP Brera Strumica. This agreement expressed the intention not only to continue cooperation, but also to raise it to a higher level. The partners emphasized that they look forward to future joint activities that would contribute to strengthening the inclusive approach to sports and creating a safe environment for all children.
“We are looking forward to the future joint activities and we are happy that we share common values and principles with our long-term partner. Nelson Mandela pointed out that the education has the power to change the world, inspire and unite people in an extraordinary manner, so we do not see a better way to describe our cooperation and the goal of our joint action than as the education in and through sport,” said Aleksandra Knežević, program director of Development Center for Youth.
