Development Center for Youth, together with its partners, has begun implementing planned activities aimed at supporting social welfare institutions, both in Serbia and region wide. These activities, realized within the project “Life Champions 3.0: every child has a right to be a champion”, focus on improving the conditions in which children grow up, providing material assistance, and empowering them through sports, education, and social inclusion.

The first of the planned activities was carried out at the “11th October” Children’s Home in Skopje. On this occasion, a delegation from Development Center for Youth, led by Program Director Aleksandra Knežević, visited the children in this institution to present the project and upcoming activities that will be implemented. In addition, the children received packages containing sports equipment, clothing, and school supplies, collected through donations and support of the partners.

During the visit, representatives of Development Center for Youth also spoke with the home’s staff about the daily challenges they faced, as well as opportunities for long-term support through sports and educational programs.

“This is just the beginning of our mission to provide better conditions for children in social welfare institutions and encourage them to develop their potential through sports and education. We look forward to future activities and hope that, in this way, we can contribute to creating beautiful memories and a sense of belonging and community. We have activities in Belgrade and Sarajevo ahead of us, and we are looking forward to the fact that these children will also become part of our concept of life champions through all planned activities”, said Aleksandra Knežević, Program Director of Development Center for Youth.

This initiative is part of the ” Life Champions 3.0: every child has a right to be a champion” project, implemented with the support of the UEFA Foundation for Children, aiming to create a better and more inclusive society through sports.
