Activists of Development Center for Youth, Katarina Eger and Veljko Avramović held another workshop on the topic of green politics as part of the project “Environmental Mobility By Raising Awareness on Changing our Earth – EMBRACE” whose coordinator is USB organization from Greece. The workshop itself aimed to introduce young people to the concepts of ecology and sustainable development, this time at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.
Through pre-prepared examples, as well as activities that were encompassed by the project with video material and a publication, present students were introduced to the concept of the project and the idea that the mentioned concept aimed at. Green policy, ecological values, awareness raising among young people, care and preservation of their environment were the topics that the young students of the first year of the Medical faculty highlighted as significant and essential for their peers, as well as for the older people in their environment. Students were introduced to examples of new modern methods for using renewable energy sources and using new ways of recycling processes that are not so widely used in Serbia.
“The project itself is not linked only to ecology, but also to traveling and socializing, getting to know new cultures and gaining various experiences. The goal is to preserve the planet Earth, and to do everything in our power to leave it for future generations,” said young activist Veljko Avramović.
Project is implemented within the Erasmus+ program of the European Union and brings together organizations from Serbia, Greece, India, Vietnam, Peru, France and Italy, with a focus on raising the ecological awareness of young people about the importance of environmental protection and sustainability of the planet Earth.
