Veljko Avramović was born on April 9, 2000 in Prokuplje. He spent most of his life in Kuršumlija, where he received his primary and secondary education, graduating from the socio-linguistic high school.
In Belgrade, he earned the title of electrical engineer, continuing his education at the Master’s studies at the High School of Electrical Engineering and Computing, majoring in Electrical Engineering.
In addition to formal education, he excelled in the field of informal education. As a youth activist who grew up in a small town, Veljko wanted the voice of the youth to be heard more strongly. As a result, immediately after arriving in Belgrade, he became part of the team of Young Researchers of Serbia. The following year, he applied to become a member of the UNICEF Youth Board, where he focused his activism on strengthening the voice of young people, advocating for the importance of mental and physical health and media literacy.
A long-time athlete, a prominent basketball player, he had the opportunity to play on courts all over Serbia, and in 2018 he became the holder of a gold medal in 3×3 basketball. In 2016, he combined his love for sports with his interests in journalism, and since then, he has been a reporter for one of the most famous sports pages. Through his journalistic work, he had the opportunity to conduct interviews with many famous athletes. He got the opportunity to try out in various sports events organizations in 2020, when he became part of the organizational team of Crvena zvezda basketball club. Veljko’s work in the basketball club was very noticable and it opened him doors to many sports events in Belgrade and beyond. He uses this opportunity and creates friendships with large and sports delegations from all over the world.
During 2019 and 2020, he also started cooperation with Development Center for Youth on the projects “Face to Face with Local Administration” and “Emergency work in an emergency situation”, and thus became an indispensable part of the organization with which he made great progress, being recognized for his dedication and enthusiasm. The project “For a healthier and safer community – Creating Life Champions” arouses in Veljko the desire for gender equality in sports and beyond, while he stands out as an educator and sports coordinator. The moment when he connects his formal education with the informal is the activity on the project called “Environmental Mobility By Raising Awareness on Changing our Earth – EMBRACE” where he represented Serbia in distant countries such as India and Vietnam. On this occasion, he got acquainted with the possibilities, ambitions and potential of the mentioned countries in the sphere of renewable energy sources.
Honesty, dedication, desire to learn and progress are just some of his characteristics that we can single out.
He speaks English fluently and has basic knowledge of French.
