Delegation of Development Center for Youth, led by program director Aleksandra Knežević, visited Sarajevo as part of the continuation of the activities within the project “Life Champions 3.0: every child has a right to be a champion”.

As the first part of the activity, with full support from Sanjin Mešić and coaches of younger categories of FC Željezničar Sarajevo, the delegation coordinated continuation of the training for coaches on the topic of sensitization for working with children without parental care. The aim of the training was to improve the competences of coaches and experts who work with this sensitive group, through understanding their specific needs and challenges, as well as familiarization with methods for building trust and inclusion through practical examples and interactive workshops.

In that spirit, the delegation visited home for children without parental care “Bjelava”, where another valuable donation was handed over with the support of partners. Packets full of sweets, clothing and school supplies brought smiles to the faces of the little ones, confirming that even small gestures of attention can bring great joy. The sincere smiles and happiness of the children once again gave meaning to our work and everything we stand for.

“Every smile we see today is a confirmation that we are doing the right thing. We believe that no child should be forgotten and that, by working together, we can create a world where every child has the opportunity to grow with love, support and equal opportunities into genuine life champion,” said Aleksandra Knežević, program director of Development Center for Youth

This initiative is part of the project “Life Champions 3.0: every child has a right to be a champion”, supported by the UEFA Foundation for Children, with the aim of creating a more inclusive and beautiful society through sport.
