Final word of the experts about the educational module for sports coaches

Portugal and GCP – Ginasio Clube Portugues hosted on October 19-22 members of the expert team in charge of development the educational materials for the project “Creating Life Champions”.

After several months of intensive work on the material, which should encourage and support the educational and pedagogical role of sports coaches in working with children and youth, members of the expert group gathered to analyze the feedback to the material, both from children and coaches, as well as from other interested parties, and on the basis of collected comments, prepare final version of the material that would be presented at the closing conference in Strumica.

The partners GCP from Portugal and METU University from Ankara, Turkiye made a significant contribution not only to the creation of working materials whose intensive promotion was planned in the sports community, but also to the preparation of a set of conclusions and recommendations from the process, so that the concept of life champions in 2025 could continue to develop with great success, following the needs of its main beneficiaries – sports coaches and the children/youth they train.

The meeting was also an opportunity to make agreements regarding the further course of promotion of the educational material in order to increase the rate of its usage, as well as concrete plans regarding the preparation of a presentation for the final conference, which should bring together important actors from the world of sports from the countries involved.

In addition, the friendly host GCP organized a tour of the club premises, showing the guests the history of their work, and achieved successes not only in the project field, but also in the field of sports.

Development Center for Youth was represented by Veljko Avramović, who was involved in the process of creating the educational material from the very beginning, giving a flywheel to the further course of the project with his constructive ideas.

Project “Creating Life Champions” is implemented with the support of the ERASMUS+ program in the field of sports and the UEFA Foundation for Children.
