As part of the FemPolitik project, which aims to empower young women for active participation in political and public life, on Saturday, September 6 in Kuršumlija, the Women’s Political Manifesto was presented – the final document of the project created with specific recommendations for increasing the participation of women in politics.

The manifesto is the result of several months of work and commitment of political school students who, in cooperation with their mentors, created this document, with the aim of providing encouragement to women for more active participation in political processes and decisions. Female participants from Serbia and Montenegro had the opportunity to gain knowledge in the field of leadership, strategic communication and digital activism with the aim of better moving through political processes and advocating for gender equality in them.

Presentation of the Manifesto brought together representatives of local self-government, activists and the media, thereby providing clear support to women in their struggle to have their voice recognized and respected in decision-making processes.

“We have accepted the partnership on the project because we believe that young women need additional support and real encouragement for more active engagement in the community, but also to dispel misconceptions that engagement implies “high politics” – participation in community life is much more than that, from advocating for road repair to the opening of new content at the local level, and requires the participation of all of us who are part of that community,” said Anastasija Nenadović, project coordinator in front of Development Center for Youth.

Project is implemented by the Fund for Progressive Politics from Montenegro in cooperation with Development Center for Youth, with a special focus on women from rural and marginalized communities in Montenegro and Serbia. The grant program through which this project is implemented is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.
